  • About the Vendor: Beef Country (1/30/2012) by The Market

baileysWhen did you begin to participate in farmers markets and why?

“April it will be 2 years. The Market offered an opportunity to reach out to the people on the street and tell them about our business and how we can share info about what makes us better than the supermarket and large chain accounts. Education about certified Angus beef and why the butcher shop”.

How did you pick the product or service that you offer at the market?

“My background has been in Ford Service all my life, from sales to Director of Dietary Services, and back to the days of the restaurant grind. I think the products and services picked me”.

Tell us something about yourself that you think would surprise people….

“Quit a really good job to run own business. Less financial reward, but way more fun”.

What was the best thing that ever happened while working at a farmers
    market?

“Always the generous and positive feedback that comes from someone who has tried our product for the first time and gives us good feedback. Feels good”.

What was the most unusual thing that ever happened?

“Silly things like forgetting to bring key equipment. Forgetting bank, tent flying up on one leg. Witnessing a bad accident due to people trying to get in and out of markets. Slow down! People buying products and leaving it on the table, or leaving their other purchases (from other vendors) on the table”.

What do you like best about the Englewood Farmers Market?

“The appreciation and the great atmosphere”.
