The November 3rd Farmers Market saw an increase in the number of vendors returning this year. Our honey vendor is now scheduled to be back for the November 10th market.
While the temperatures soared to over 90 degrees, a record for November 3rd, we had a very nice crowd of shoppers estimated at over 1,500 who were happy to be out and getting back to some degree of normalcy after the Hurricane. Parking is getting better as the FEMA crews are now collecting much of the tree debris from the streets surrounding Pioneer Plaza and the construction on Dearborn street is getting closer to being completed.
For those of you who are not familiar with the Market, this Farmers Market is operated by the The Sunset Rotary of Englewood, a non-profit organization who gives back all of the money raised from revenue for vendor spots. Last year the Rotary gave back over $30,000.00 to local non-profits and people in need. This year is no different. Keeping our vendors happy and purchasing their produce and products helps everyone in the community.
The Market is open from 9 AM to 1 PM every Thursday of the month, except for days when it lands on a Holiday. It is located at the newly remodeled Pioneer Plaza on Dearborn street and with the new concrete walkways it is easily accessible to strollers, walkers and wheel chairs. Dogs are welcome as long as they are on a leash.
